Wherever Whenever - Work Culture Festival: Keynote Speaker Werner Aisslinger - 24.10.2024

Werner Aisslinger Designer

Designer Werner Aisslinger, operating from his Berlin base with a secondary studio in Singapore, envisions design as a force that transcends mere form, shaping the essence of space and atmosphere. His work, which spans product design, interior, and experiential architecture, embraces experimental and artistic methodologies, integrating the latest technologies and pioneering new materials and techniques.

Known for his narrative spatial concepts, Aisslinger designs hotels for the 25hours Hotel Group, coworking spaces for Metropolis in San Francisco and Houston, malls for the Central Group in Asia, and new work offices for Zalando. His material-focused design objects are featured in museum collections such as MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain in Paris, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Vitra Design Museum.

Werner Aisslinger designs for brands like Vitra, Moroso, Dedon, Cappellini, HansGrohe, Kaldewei, Foscarini, Canon, Haier, Nomos, and Wästberg. He studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and gained experience with designers such as Jasper Morrison, Ron Arad, and Studio De Lucchi before founding his own studio.

His solo exhibitions, such as “Home of the Future” in Berlin in 2013 or “House of Wonders” at the Neue Sammlung in Munich in 2017, are a symbiosis of utopia and social critique with a touch of humor. In 2014, he opened his exhibition for AW Designer of the Year in Cologne.
