Furnishing offices is a matter of expertise – and having the right tools. That’s why OFML was developed: a standardised data format for all office furniture products. Almost all office furniture manufacturers in German-speaking countries provide OFML data for their products. In other countries, the number of providers is steadily increasing.
What is OFML?
In addition to 2D and 3D views, OFML data includes configuration-relevant information, descriptive product texts, and commercial data for quotation and order management processes.
Software solutions are available for the following applications:

- Order management and logistics
With OFML, complex planning is possible without relying on AutoCad.
Advanced Applications
A notable application of OFML data is the Acoustics Plug-in. This extension for pCon.planner PRO (version 6 and above) combines office furniture planning with the prediction of a room’s acoustic properties. The plug-in provides the basis for approximate reverberation time calculations and serves as an interface for further room acoustics planning. Thanks to the interface with the CadnaR acoustic planning tool, there is no longer any need to enter surface areas (walls, floors, ceilings, furniture) and their absorption properties twice.
OFML is a registered trademark of the German Office Furniture Industry Association (Industrieverband Büro und Arbeitswelt e. V., IBA). However, the data standard is also available to companies outside the association and to other industries.
